Finding a Rehabilitator

Once you have decided the animal you have found is in need of help (review “Am I an Orphan?”) it is important to contact a rehabilitator as soon as possible!

Below are links to lists of Connecticut’s licensed rehabilitators:

Connecticut Wildlife Rehabilitators Association

Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection

It is important to contact the rehabilitators located in your area as they are most likely to be able to help you in a timely manner! Keep in mind all rehabilitators are volunteers with full-time jobs and receive NO financial compensation for their work, so we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Helping hands for wildlife is run by a collection of rehabilitators (included in the lists above). Please DO NOT email us if you find an animal in need as may we not see the email in time to help!

*Please note that rehabilitating wildlife requires a state or federal license and should never be attempted by an untrained or unlicensed person*
